Entrepreneurship | Problems and Solutions! 6 Resources to Get Started.

Updated: Sep 26, 2023

6 tips to getting your business started today

Houston we have a problem, and a solution!

When I first started my business, one thing I harped on was credibility. I invested money into systems and websites, hoping it would make me appear as a trusted source. But the truth was, I had little experience and no patience in the process. Often we seek approval through external validation. We ask ourselves what makes us credible to serve. Why should people trust me? To that I say, do you trust you? We look to classes and education to solidify our confidence and integrity. But being educated does not mean people will trust you enough to do business with you. Do not get me wrong, it is a good business practice to be certified and licensed in your field. But plenty of licensed practitioners are not successful for various reasons. Credentials will not always yield validity. A college graduate will still hear (what some might consider a daunting interview question) do you have any experience? Despite what you believe, what constitutes credibility is time, knowledge, and understanding. Someone with tenure and wisdom could get the position over someone with a college degree and no experience. If you are seeking credibility, first look at your confidence level. When your confidence is in God, you know He qualifies whom He calls. The next thing you want to do to build your knowledge base is serve others. The more time you invest in your craft, the more credible you will become.

Problems & Solutions | Faithful Resources

Now, we can talk about faithful resources. Many people do not start their businesses because it can be expensive. But it does not have to be. Here is an opportunity to put our ego aside and utilize free resources to jumpstart our career as a boss babe/bro. Continue reading to receive six solutions for the average business startup. Here is what I know now that I wish I knew then.

  1. You can create your logo on Canva for FREE.

You do not have to be the most creative to design a decent logo. There is no final destination in business. Your brand will evolve with time, and so will your logo. When the revenue starts pouring in, you can pay a professional to upgrade your design.

2. You can start with a free website on Wix.com.

You see the ad when you come to this site. You cannot miss it. I have a few reasons for not transitioning to a paid program. One is because the game is to be sold and told. I want to encourage site visitors to start their own website for FREE! You do not have to pay some big-shot web designer for what you can do yourself. It may take some time, but we must invest to receive the fruit. Time is the highest currency and yields the highest return.

3. Use Free 7-day trials.

Most companies have a free trial period you can sign up for to try their product or service. Subscribe and use that time wisely. Get all you can out of those seven days.

4. Google me!

Google is your friend, and it is FREE! I use google to research and gather images/stock for my website. You can too! If you are not taking advantage of this resource, you are trippin'!

5. Write like a Pro!

Grammarly is a FREE resource to proofread your copy before putting it on your website. You do not just want a website. But you want a professional website for your brand. Grammarly can make you look like a professional even if you are not.

6. YouTube!

If you need a tutorial on how to create a logo, or a website or use photoshop, I guarantee you there is a tutorial on YouTube. Again, you do not have to be an expert. But you can find one and learn from them.

I am not a paid spokesman for the brands mentioned above. But I do use them faithfully. These resources are FREE! And boy, am I glad they are! I just wish I knew to use them when I first began. Since I was looking for validation, I spent a good portion of money outsourcing what I could have done for myself. In the beginning, you will do everything for your brand. Everything from designing, editing, product, service, marketing, and managing falls into your lap. Do not despise the day of humble beginnings. Here is where your credibility lies. Once you have done these things, you will have learned how to build a business from the ground up. Sharing your knowledge is how we serve. It does not devalue your brand. Instead, it validates your expertise. You could use this wisdom. Package it as a service or product for your business and teach another aspiring entrepreneur to do the same. Here is how you establish yourself as a leader in your industry. The game is to be sold and told. And there, Houston is the problem and the solution!
