I thought it only right I use my own picture for this subject because I'll be speaking for myself. Everyone has a different perspective on makeup. When to wear it, how to do it, how much is enough, and the list goes on. Personally speaking, I've never been a makeup girlie. Sure, I'll wear it on special occasions, and even when I want a finished look, but 99% of the time, you'll catch me looking like the girl on the left. There's just something about a fresh face that's liberating! I especially enjoy the low high maintenance aspect. It takes me literally 5-10 minutes at most to prepare in the morning. Since I do prefer a bare face, I invest heavily in a great skincare routine. I consider this to be the part of me that is high maintenance. I'm sure you've seen the TikTok videos going around about different types of high maintenance girls. You have the Chanel and Burkin bag girls, the wine and dine girls, the travel girls, the shopping spree girls, and then you have the pampered girls. I'd say I fall in the last category. I love being pampered. It makes me feel pretty, youthful and cared for. But back to the debate. Yes, I enjoy glowy bare skin, but there is one thing I love about makeup, and that's the process of getting all dolled up. It's like creating art. You start with a blank canvas and end up with a masterpiece. That's if you know how to do it. Since I'm no makeup artist, I do watch a couple of tutorial videos every now and then to stay up on the latest trends. But if it requires more than concealer, blush, lipstick, mascara, and a colored pencil, I'm limited. Maybe one day I'll begin investing in a more elaborate routine, but for now, consider me a minimalist. I don't feel as if I have a need for it, plus I really enjoy having clear skin. If you'd like more info about my skincare routine, be sure to check out my Youtube channel where I go through my entire ritual. I add new products as I go, but for the most part, I've been using the same products for close to a decade. Why fix it, if it's not broken.
