Pretty Hot and Tempting!
Continuing our #wellnesswednesdayrecipe series into the month of October with the focus on both healthy fats and carbs. Starting with fats of course, because I know as women, we will and do not hide our desire to be pretty hot and tempting. Now let me say without further ado, that you my darling, are already that, but a healthy vessel adds the drizzle to your sizzle mmkay! So let us get into it!
The Avocado
By now, you should know I love an avocado. How can we not?! Truth be told, they have little to no taste but add so much value to everything. And did you know that avocados are berries, yes, berries?! They’re a member of the Lauraceae plant family, which also includes the cinnamon tree. This makes so much sense to me seeing that I love them with a drizzle of honey and cinnamon. I guess all this time, it's like a family affair and they are both happy to be with their cousin. Ha! Pin this idea because we'll need it later. We've spoken of one way to eat avocado here on this blog ( https://www.groundupselflove.com/post/healthy-eats-avocado-toast-anyone ), and today we add a few more meal ideas. The more variety you have, the more options you can choose from. Here is something you should also know about me, I am all for options! A healthy lifestyle is more about awareness and intentionality than anything. The idea that it has to be boring, or limiting is just a down right lie! However, without the proper research and willingness to explore, it can and will be. My goal is to completely annihilate the lesser experience for you all together. Now, for those extra meal ideas. We'll affectionately call them P.H.A.T meals.

P.H.A.T MEALS
✨ First up, The Breakfast Smoothie!
Have you ever included an avocado in your breakfast smoothie? If not, you're totally missing out! Not only does it add a smoother texture, you get all the other health benefits like their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds that may help reduce your risk for heart disease. I typically include 1 banana, 2 scoops Herbalife Protein Drink Mix, 2 scoops Herbalife Formula 1 Healthy Meal, a drizzle of honey and cinnamon and oat milk (substitute for water if the goal is weight loss). And if I want more fat, I add 1 scoop peanut butter. If you want healthy fast food, this is the way to go! A meal in under 3 minutes and you're out the door!
✨ Guacamole
You cannot tell me you do not like guacamole! Chipotle values it so much, they charge extra for it! Ha! Actually, when I think about it, most restaurants do. That should tell you something. Avocados are EXPENSIVE, but so are you! Still, you can make it at home for much cheaper when you consider you can have a larger serving size for the price you'd pay in a restaurant for one. Here's how I make mine. Smash 1 medium avocado, cut up cilantro and onion, and tomato if you are anything like me. Mix all your ingredients in a small bowl, season with salt, pepper and a few squirts of lemon juice. To make it a bit spicy, add crushed peppers. And, Wahla! Use it as a topping for your tacos, or homemade chipotle bowl. Or you can eat it with tortilla chips as a snack, mkkay. La'Tara taught you!
✨ Salads
Keep it simple, add a few slices to your salad. This one is pretty self explanatory. You can purchase your style of salad at your local grocer and since you'll already be in the produce section, grab that avocado. Substitute regular dressing for olive oil to make it extra P.H.A.T!
Final Thoughts | You've Got Expensive Taste
I truly believe one of the reasons we do not eat healthy is because we do not view ourselves worthy of the luxury. Frankly, the idea that eating healthy is considered a luxury in this nation is absurd. In order to really enjoy this transition, you must have a mindset shift. You must see yourself as privileged and expensive. When you go into a luxury store, we see they keep their most expensive items behind glass or on top shelves. That is the way you have to start seeing yourself. Affirm to yourself often if not daily, that you've got expensive taste because you are a high priced item and you're deserving. On my journey to a healthy lifestyle, I learned avocado is a good source of healthy fats, vitamin c, e, k, and b-6, along with magnesium and potassium. They are great for reducing bad cholesterol and replacing them with the good kind. If you need a snack that is going to keep you fuller longer, have an avocado. If you need a little help with your fiber intake for digestive health, eat an avocado. What I am saying is, you are what you eat, and YOU my dear, ARE EXPENSIVE!
