One of my favorite phrases is "ciao" which typically means goodbye but today we explore a new meaning. How many times have you written off a relationship because your problem solving skills weren't up to par? Instead of working towards conflict resolution, you found the nearest exit and ran for the hills! Lol! Don't be ashamed to admit it! I've been there too! When we are unaware we're operating out of survival mode, triggers activate our fight or flight response. The walls seem to be caving in on us and we just want to get out of here, and quick! Don't ask questions, run, don't walk, and at the speed of lightning! Unfortunately, this is the norm for many of us. I was once there! However, we are learning how to stand and face our fears! Our triggers hold our treasures. The greatest of all being wisdom and growth. So the next time we are confronted with challenges with our beloveds, we are going to look to reframing. Let's turn goodbye into growth! I now introduce you to C.I.A.O. reversed. Let's get into it!
Ciao Principal For a Growth Mindset in Relationships
Running away is easy. Let's fight to stay! Failed relationships have a common theme. Either you're growing together or growing apart. Conflict creates an opportunity to evolve and grow. It's not about how fast you can escape but how deep can you go to resolve. It's your beloveds and you against the problem, not each other. Which brings me to my first point.
🔘 O ✨ Observation
Q : Is there room for growth, how can I show up better as my highest self?
We can be challenged by those we love without feeling personally attacked. Take a moment to self-reflect. The people who hold you accountable love you the most. Picture the person you wish to be and show up as that person.
🔘 A ✨ Acknowledge, Admit, Apologize & Appreciate
Q: Where you could have been better?
✨Admit it to yourself and others who may have been affected by your lack of awareness. Recognizing where you have room for personal growth conveys you intend to change in that area. We can't change what we don't acknowledge.
✨Apologize for your shortcomings. Forgiveness is one of God's greatest gifts. When we know we hurt someone we love, we naturally have a guilty conscience that eats away at us. Even if that person doesn't accept your apology, forgiveness is for you. If they do receive it, you can rest assure that person will have more respect for your ability to hold yourself accountable and acknowledge your inadequacies because let's face it, NO HUMAN IS PERFECT!
✨Appreciate them for sticking with you through your growing process. Nothing says I love you more than leaving space for others to evolve with you. It reflects one's ability to be patient and embody unconditional love. Now let's be clear, unconditional love is not unconditional tolerance. Everything has a limit.
🔘 I ✨ inform
Q: What caused you to do that? Why did you think it was okay?
Inform your beloveds of what could have caused you to be unaware or to act in the manner in which you did. We all appreciate information. When we provide a root cause to our shortcomings, it's evident we've sat with ourselves in self-reflection. Believe it our not this is a self-love practice. Awareness requires that we spend much time with the self in examination. We call this meditation. It's only when we meditate on our actions that we can potentially change them.
🔘 C ✨ Change & Correct
Q: What's the next course of action? How can I change?
Take action to change your behavior. The best apology is changed behavior.
Final Thoughts | Ciao Bella!
When I received this download, I thought to myself WOW, God is creative! Another one of those mantra's that's helped me breakthrough so many limiting beliefs and surrender to the present moment. In fact this was the mantra for this month’s guided breath meditation, be sure to check it out on my Pretty Lifted Trippy Podcast available on Spotify for podcasters and Apple podcast. I’ll see you there!
