Beauty | Battle of the Collagen Boosters Micro-needling vs Herbalife SKIN Beauty Booster

herbalife skin collagen beauty booster

Our skin is the largest organ we have and quite possibly the most important. Could you imagine having only muscle and flesh, and no skin. I suppose that's what Adam and Eve looked like before the fall. Or the way I imagined, they were light beings without flesh. But anywho, seeing we inherited skin to cover our shame, I think it's important we take good care of our redemption gift, which brings me to today's beauty versus. Have you ever heard of collagen boosters or micro-needling?

It's a well known fact that as we age we lose skin elasticity, firmness, moisture, and collagen. There are many beauty products that help to work against the effects of aging and I'm no stranger to a few. My mother used Olay beauty products since I could remember. Seeing her take care of her skin growing up conveyed to me skin care was not only a luxury but a necessity. From firming creams to moisturizers, cleansers, toners, you name it, she had and used it. Today she's aging gracefully and still doesn't look her age. I only hope to have that same grace as I age. These are the genes I'd hoped to reveal when trying proactive before my prom (if you haven't checked out my last beauty versus, I speak on my dad's genetic makeup and battling adolescent acne. Seeing this level of care for beauty in the home only made me appreciate the pampering process, more than that I got to witness the results of good stewardship. And here we are today! I'm 38 and I've been told I look a lot younger than I am. Of course fitness plays a major role in that but I'd be amiss if I didn't acknowledge a good skin care regimen has its perks too.

loc growth comparison, 2016 vs 2022

I was introduced to Herbalife's Collagen Beauty Booster back in 2015/2016 when I became a distributor and coach. Ironically, I began my loc journey January 1, 2016. Little did I know beauty booster would be a great contributor to my loc growth. This product wasn't only good for skin, but hair and nails too. For the price range (with my discount), it was totally doable so I added it to my existing skin care routine. What made this different than other beauty products was that it's a drink. Not many collagen drinks were popular at that time. Since the strawberry lemonade taste was good, I could drink it every day which added to my daily water intake. Overall I've won using this product. The picture to the left was taken when I first started my Locs and as you can see my nails were growing like wildfire. The one to the right is back in 2022 at my 6 year mark. You can see the growth. I started with babies. The fact that I've been able to maintain youthful skin is just an added bonus.

At home skin care is top-tier but it doesn't cancel out seeing a professional for maintenance. You can do a facial at home, but I don't suppose you can do the same for micro-needling, unless of course you're an esthetician. My sister and I got into a fight when we were younger and she punched me right in the lip with one of my mom's diamond cluster rings. Yep, I'm still a lil traumatized because I have the scar to prove it, lol. No amount of collagen beauty booster was going to undo that. It was time to see a professional. I was introduced to Luisa  in Sugarland, Tx by a sister friend. I thought I'd need a chemical peel but she said no, I'd benefit from a micro-needling instead. This was a two session process and I totally love my results. Micro-needling is great to boost collagen and reduce the appearance of dark spots, scarring and promote glowing skin. Get with your licensed esthetician about this service. I 10/10 would recommend. Service could range between $100-250 + per session tho. This is considered a luxury expense and would only be performed every quarter according to the prescription of the tech. You can see in my last beauty versus, my scar is reduced in size and my skin is firm and still glowing 2 years later. In conclusion, both products/services are essential. One is great for daily use and the other for the heavy lifting. I personally don't believe in skimping out on my beauty regimen. I'm worth every penny. If you try either I'd love to hear your feedback and if you need a Herbalife distributor, I'm your girl.
