Could You Be Sleeping On You?
It's the morning of August 25th, 2023 and I am rising to the voice of God. Positioned for purpose! That’s what I heard loud and clear. Instantly I reach for my phone to document the message as I've done so many times before. This is common for Yahweh. Many of our conversations take place when I am in the REM stage of sleep. These are those dreams and often one liners like the phrase I heard this day. It is also when we do a lot of our emotional processing and regulating which is why it is so important to document your dreams when you can remember them. They're like the breadcrumbs to building our dream life. Our visions aren't just bits and pieces of our imagination. In fact, I'd like to rephrase that. Our visions are produced by our imagination which lives in the spiritual realm and visualizes as a child with childlike wonder. It is where anything is possible and we go here to live out our dreams. However when we do not document the dream, we leave it in a fantasy state. The hearts desires can make us love sick because we are not bringing them into the natural world to manifest. These desires are related to our purpose. So if you are wondering what's your reason for being or assignment here on earth, could it be your sleeping on it? In the next few paragraphs we will explore practices that may help you to wake up to your potential. It's time to get in alignment!

Getting Into Alignment
No matter what you are doing, ask yourself am I aligned to the will of God? Am I manifesting Jesus (peace, justice, and truth)? Why is this important, you ask? Because alignment determines destination. To experience the things of heaven you must be aligned with it. So let’s talk about heavenly things!
Our dreams are heavens messages. I can't stress enough how important it is to write down your conversations with God. Dreams are prophecies just waiting to happen. Many people claim they cannot hear the voice of God, some say He doesn't speak to them at all. I find that really hard to believe. I have also heard some say they don't dream which blows me away. Again, I do not believe this. Instead I'd say the disconnect comes from their inability to enter into REM sleep. This is the fourth and last stage of sleep and transpires mostly between hours four and seven of our sleep time. Here is why we hear phrases like seven to eight hours of sleep is optimal and a good nights rest. So yes, we need sleep and more of it. A simple night time routine could possibly be the fix. So how do we position ourselves to dream? Here are 6 tips to getting a good nights rest and having sweet dreams.
The Recipe for Sweet Dreams
One, Leave Work at Work.
Nothing worse than leaving work to come home and continue the work at home. If you have a family, please understand this is family time. You are off the clock and yes, there may be clothes in the dryer and homework that needs your help, but this is the work you get to do with pure love and joy. You get to be present with and for your loved ones. Find reasons to be grateful, share a laugh, open your heart! Daddy/Mommy's home!
Two, The Wind Down.
It would be wise to start winding down at least 3 hours prior to bed time. This could include bath and bed time for the babies and having your last meal before 7pm if bedtime is 10pm. Believe it not, when you eat late at night your digestive system has to work harder to break down the food. You could be wondering what does that have to do with good sleep. Well, as within so without. If your internal system is working while you are resting, you aren't really at rest.
Three, A Long Bath.
Now that everyone else is in bed, think pamper time and relaxation. This could mean a salt bath soak, or a bubble bath with eucalyptus essential oils. For more tips on how to have a spa day at home, check out https://www.groundupselflove.com/post/balanced-life-wellness-at-home-spa-edition .
Four, No Electronic Devices!
This is probably the hardest of them all. We are so used to having our phones in our hands, and the tv on, but constant stimulation doesn't allow the nervous system or the mind to rest. Just think about it! If you are constantly reading and seeing what's on someone else's mind, do not expect your mind to find stillness. Set a time to turn the tv off and put the phone on the charger across the room mmkay!
Five, Lavender Tea Please!
Sipping on a cup of hot tea before bed might just be the golden ticket to a good nights rest. Lavender oil and its calming effects might relax certain muscles. It also seems to have antibacterial and anti-fungal effects among many other benefits like reducing high blood pressure and heart rate and relieving asthma symptoms. Knowing that, you might want to make that two cups.
Six, Let Us Pray.
Prayer before bedtime seems to be a lost art. Even grace before meals seems uncommon these days. Still, we have to set the example of what communication with God looks like for our families. This is not only your opportunity to express gratitude for the day and the many ways Yahweh has kept you and your loved ones. It is also an opportunity to ask what you would like HIM to reveal to you in your sleep time.
Final Thoughts | Positioned For Purpose
I can't leave this blog post without one of the most important ingredients to sweet dreams and sleep. You are going to need pen and paper to write down your dream. Purchase a notebook from your local dollar store and title it Dream Journal, and do not forget to date each dream as you would a diary entry. Now, don't get discouraged if you do not remember the full dream. Even if you only remember scenes, names, colors, symbols, numbers, song lyrics, phrases. It doesn't matter! Whatever you remember, WRITE IT DOWN! We are training our memory and we have to know it will get better with exercise and time. The objective is to get in tune with our inner world so we can begin manifesting it in our outer reality. Since dreams often reflect our emotional state, this is an opportunity to start doing the internal work of healing any repressed emotions and or fears that may be stuck in our subconscious mind. This will benefit the entirety of your sleep process. With less repressed emotion brings more peace and we all know that that is the #1 ingredient for a good nights rest and sweet dreams.
